Abstract

This qualitative-descriptive library research aims to explore the concept of educator and student etiquette in the thoughts of Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji in the book Ta'lim al-Muta'allim, while also revealing its relevance to the moral crisis of contemporary education. Through content analysis methods on primary and secondary sources, this study dissects the two main ordinates of classical Islamic pedagogical ethics. The results of the analysis show that educator etiquette is manifested through sincerity, exemplary behavior, compassion, and patience, while student etiquette rests on purity of intention, respect for teachers, sincerity, and the selection of a healthy learning environment. Implicatively, Az-Zarnuji's reconstructive thinking offers an ethical-spiritual blueprint that urgently needs to be adopted in modern curricula to reform character education, strengthen teachers' prophetic professionalism, and build a contemporary academic ecosystem that is humanistic-religious.
